Our client in Toronto is looking for an experienced Real Estate Clerk who will contribute to the overall excellent level of service provided to our clients by performing a variety of routine and complex clerking duties for commercial matters. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational talent along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. This is a good position for you if you’re a self-starter possessing excellent writing and communication skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision.


  • Carriage of Commercial Real Estate files from beginning to end
  • Preparation of all related documents for purchase and sale transactions, mortgage transactions, routine loan transactions and refinancing (on behalf of borrowers from both private and institutional lenders)
  • Standard document production in relation to larger property acquisitions, dispositions and financings
  • Review title searches and prepare title memorandum, prepare off-title search letters, oversee off-title searches and draft requisition letters and responses
  • Deal directly with clients, financial institutions, municipalities, land registry offices and title insurance companies
  • Review and negotiate title insurance policies
  • Prepare record books promptly following completion of files
  • Produce the highest quality of work

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Real Estate Law Clerk
  • Strong knowledge of the real estate transaction process for commercial matters
  • Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a legal assistant or law clerk program
  • ILCO certification
  • Proficiency with Teraview is required
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed
  • Strong knowledge of title matters
